Rudra, who built bisaat

About bisaat

Hi, I am Rudra.

I am thirteen years old, I am in 9th grade at school in India, and I built bisaat because I want learning chess to be easy and free for everybody in the world.

Founder and builder of bisaat.live

Why I made this

Chess is one of my favourite things in the world. Every game is a little puzzle that two people solve together, and every mistake is something you can learn from, if somebody shows you what happened.

That last part is the reason bisaat exists. I believe nobody should have to pay to get better at chess, and nobody should need to understand engine numbers to learn from their own games. So I set out to build one place where anyone can look back at a game they played, find out where it turned, and practise exactly the thing that went wrong, all explained in plain words.

I wanted to share what I know about chess with the rest of the world. Building this site turned out to be the best way I could think of to do that.

What you can do here

Review your games

Paste a game and every move gets a label and a sentence saying what it did, with an arrow showing the better move when there was one.

Learn step by step

Lessons on openings, tactics, famous checkmates and endgames, where you play every move yourself instead of just reading about it.

Solve puzzles

Puzzles from real games, matched to your level, with a rating that climbs as you improve and a puzzle of the day for everyone.

Play and practise

Bots from beginner to master, games against other people, and a coach that tells you what to watch for while you play.

Fix your own mistakes

The positions you got wrong come back a few days later, until finding the right move becomes a habit.

See yourself improve

Trends across all your games show which part of the game costs you most, and whether it is getting better.

My promise to you

Beyond the chessboard

School comes first for me, and chess and gaming are what I love doing beside it. Here is a little more about what keeps me curious:

Chess and gaming

Games that make you think are my favourite kind of fun, and chess is the best of them all.

Science and aerospace

I love reading about new research in aerospace: how aircraft and rockets are designed, and what scientists are discovering next.

Mathematics puzzles

A good maths puzzle and a good chess puzzle feel the same to me: there is one idea hiding in plain sight, and finding it is the best feeling there is.

Built with my parents

I built bisaat under the guidance and with the approval of my parents. They helped me think about the things that matter when a website is used by real people, like keeping everyone's information safe and treating every visitor fairly, and they are beside me as bisaat grows.

Say hello

If something on bisaat helped you, confused you, or simply did not work, I would really like to know. Use the Feedback tab on the site, or write to us at:

Thank you for playing, and see you on the board.
